Swellride Summer Surf Camp

Join us for a Swellride Surf Camp - for students aged 8 - 17 years old - three days of super fun surf instruction to thoroughly introduce the fundamentals of surfing & prepare for safe independent surfing!  

During the three days we'll cover:

• Ocean awareness and safety
• Proper paddle technique
• The "pop-up"
• Surf stance
• Wave recognition, selection, positioning & timing
• Surf etiquette

Schedule:

• Monday - Wednesday
• 8:15a arrival
• 8:30a start on the beach covering surf technique basics & safety 
• 9:00a into the water we go - it's surfing time!
• 10:00a water & snack break. Reapply sunscreen.
• 10:15a more in-depth discussions building on previous topics
• 10:30a back in the water for lots of waves
• 11:30a exit the water - shakas, smiles & high-fives!
• 11:30a student pick-up

What to bring:

• All surf equipment provided. 
• Students should have a rash guard/ surf shirt to protect from the sun and from chaffing on the board. 
• Students should have plenty of sunscreen applied upon arrival. We will provide sunscreen for re-application through the morning. You can of course bring your preferred sunscreen for re-application. 
• Bring water and a light snack for mid-morning recharge.

Each camp is capped at 15 students, with a 3-1 student-instructor ratio. All instructors are CPR certified. Students receive personalized feedback and maximum wave count, leaving camp feeling confident, accomplished & ready for more waves!
